Ah, the electronic cigarette… what is it? These battery operated e-cigarettes simulate a real smoking experience with the look, feel, and taste of a regular tobacco cigarette but work very differently.

Nostalgic E Cig News From 2011

How funny was this! Actor Charlie Sheen partnered up with a e cigarette company called NicoSheen in 2011, “The Winning E-Cigarette”. The caption is “Sheen Safe Smoke”. Looks like they sold disposables and regular starter kits.

Since the staff at “Two and a Half Men” have mucked up any chance of saving the show, good ole Charlie Sheen is embarking on new adventures and into the electronic cigarette niche. Guess he was vaping these on stage during his sometimes good, sometimes bad live shows and everyone was wondering what he was smoking. TMZ even did a story on this…

Other celebrities who have vaped on e cigs are; Katherine Heigl, Johnny Depp, and Jake Harris from “Deadliest Catch”, but Jake is back to tobacco cigs it seems.

Nostalgic Green Smoke review

Remember them? This was the second kit I purchased from a ecig company in 2009. Was so exited to try these out and see if they lived up to the hype and also decide if these could replace my smokey Camels.

At first they were a cool shiny object and then trying to get used tot hem was a chore, because I went cold turkey on my cigarettes for which I should have not done. Best to use these electric cigarettes as an alternative to smoking while still smoking and then see if you can ease off the tobacco.

The problem was the inconvenience, not the taste or sensation of smoking which Green Smoke did deliver on 100%. I was really taken back at how real these things felt. But after a few weeks I finally did away with buying cigarettes and relied totally on ecigs. Some good things came out of that and some not so good and unexpected surprises I was not aware of.

Some of those includes; stepping on them, flicking them into an ash can, and doing the habitual things I normally do with a cigarette when I was done smoking. Just was hard to pay attention – guess I’m a jabroni like that.

Green Smoke Pros vs Cons

Pros:

• Tobacco flavor taste great – the other flavors are “meh”
• Lots of smoke vapor
• Fits between fingers nice (I got big manly man hands mind you)
• Great throat hit!
• Got attention ;)

Cons:

• A tad too heavy
• Battery depletes too fast for my liking
• Chain smoking is not an option as the cartridge starts to taste burnt
• Flavors other than tobacco are weak and bland – imho
• Hard to inhale on once the battery loses some of its power

So after many years Green Smoke worked just as good as the day I opened the package, so no problems regarding the quality of the product. But I wish the battery life was longer and the other flavors had more punch. Every time I order new nicotine cartridges they come in a matter of days, and Green Smoke’s customer service was top notch as they wanted your business and wanted to keep your business.

Besides they were the only company that offered special sales and coupons on holidays and such, other brands just don’t seem to go through the effort like the Green Smoke did.

What happened to them? Well, big tobacco strikes again as Green Smoke was discontinued by Altria in 2018.
